Dolphin Man tells the life story of Jacques Mayol, the greatest free diver in recorded history, whose life became the inspiration for Luc Besson's cult-movie Le Grand Bleu (The Big Blue). Directed by Greek filmmaker Lefteris Charitos and narrated by Jean-Marc Barr, the actor who played Mayol in Le Grand Bleu, and utilising rare film archives blended with contemporary underwater scenes of current divers who demonstrate the legacy and impact left by Mayol, this film takes us on a journey across the blue planet and through the life of a man who through his athletic feats, his work as a conservationist and his philosophy, was entirely devoted to the ocean.
There is a universe to discover about Jacques Mayol, and Dolphin Man is a truly unique biographical experience with so much to offer. A must see on the big screen.
